Since 4 January 2026, a new financial aid scheme called ‘Klimabonus Wunnen’ has come into force for photovoltaic installations.
- Immediate deduction on the invoice
The Klimabonus Wunnen subsidy can now be deducted directly from the invoice by the installer, meaning households do not have to pay the full amount up front.

For a new photovoltaic installation, the subsidy can be up to €10,000.
- Transitional period
Please note that for orders placed until 31 March 2026, it is still possible to choose between the old scheme (50% aid) and the new system with pre-financing, even though the amount is announced as being identical between the two schemes.

In 2026, the Klimabonus financial assistance for solar panels in Luxembourg may reach:
- up to €1,155 per kWp installed (minimum 2kWp)
- up to €10,000 in total for a new standard residential installation (maximum power 15 kWp - panels + battery)

The new gamechanger : pre-financing of the subsidy
Before
You had to pay for the entire installation and then wait for the Klimabonus subsidies to be reimbursed.

The subsidy for installing your solar panels is deducted directly from your final bill.
